This minimalist pedestal desk with glass top was designed by Franco Albini for Knoll in 1958. A classic design, it has been called a ‘floating drawer and desk’ as the wooden pedestal drawers appear to float on the chromed steel frame. Albini was one of the first European designers commissioned to work for Knoll and much of his furniture, including the Albini desk, was designed to make use of the inexpensive raw materials that were available during the post-World War II era when other materials were scarce. The Albini desk is available in either black or white oak. Assembly needed.
