The kitchen is the heart of a good house and a good kitchen is full of books as well as food. Hence, the Bibliothèque table, which Terence Conran created for Barton Court, his Berkshire country house. Made of solid local oak, it was inspired by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. The table has a fine monastic simplicity and seats up to ten readers and eaters. Made to order from Sir Terence’s own Benchmark workshop.
