Panton was a student of the great Arne Jacobsen in Copenhagen. His Panthella light is a plastic masterpiece, designed so that both base and shade act as reflector. Panton continuously wanted to challenge the customer’s expectations: he believed a ‘less successful experiment is better than a beautiful platitude’. Panthella wonGermany’s utimate design prize, the Gute Form award, in 1972. Manufactured in Denmark by Louis Poulsen.
