Dutch designer Hella Jongerius set out to create ‘a collage of shapes’ when she designed the three flower-inspired shades of the Blossom lamp in 2007.And while every flower has its own scent, each shade on the Blossom lamp provides a different type of light making this lamp very functional. The upper opal reflector serves as general room lighting, the middle element is used for broad accentuated light and the lowest element is perfectly suited as a reading light. The three lights can be switched off and on –and the top two dimmed – individually by their hand-cast metal filigree switches. The angle and height of each is also adjustable making this an extremely practical light. The anodised aluminium stem sits on a black-painted base. The lamp stands 200cm high and takes, from top to bottom, one maximum 150W, E27 G120 bulb, one maximum 75W E27 R95 spotlight and one 40W E14 halogen lamp (not included).
