The Type 1228 was designed by British designer Kenneth Grange to celebrate 70 years of George Carwardine’s original anglepoise and is fast becoming a timeless classic in its own right.Launched in 2004, the lamp has an adjustable silver frame and was originally designed with a green polycarbonate shade to mimic the traditional bankers light. Redesigned for the modern day, the Type 1228 features a wide round base to ensure sturdiness and for the first time the ability to rotate the shade vertically so that it can be used as an uplighter. The two tone shade (coloured on the outside and white on the inside) provides a good working light and a pleasant ambience around the room. The original Anglepoise lamp was designed in 1932. It used a new type of spring he had designed that held the arm in place after it was set in the desired position.Available in green, blue and orange. Takes one 60W, E27 bulb (included).
