Created for the Museum of Modern Art's 'Low Cost Furniture Design' competition, Charles and Ray Eames' organically shaped plastic armchairs were later combined with various bases and sold in their millions. Now made from polypropylene, the latest version is even more comfortable than the original. The DAR – Dining Height Armchair R-Wire base – has an upholstered seat.
