The White Oval Clock is part of a collection of clocks that were designed by George Nelson which have a geometric look about them that is evocative of sculptures by artists such as Constantin Brancusi or Isamu Noguchi. This eye-catching and unconventional ceramic clock with sheet metal hands was developed in the 1950s as far as the production stage however for reasons unknown it never made it to the production line. Using the original plans the Vitra Design Museum has brought this clock and Nelson’s other designs to the market with a precise quartz movement.
