The Eames House in Pacific Palisades was created for a design competition run by a local magazine, Arts & Architecture: in its construction they used only readily available standardised industrial components. These free-standing shelves are designed on the same principle. ESU stands for ‘Eames Storage Unit’. Re-issued by Vitra, a sticker attests to its authenticity. Designed in 1949.
