Designed by Christian Dell, a silversmith turned industrial designer and master craftsman at the Bauhaus school’s metal workshop from 1922 to1925, this pendant lamp is part of a collection that includes table, floor, wall and ceiling lights. First produced by Gebrüder Kaiser in the 1930s (the ‘idell’ is a combination of Dell’s name and the German word for idea), it is made from hand-lacquered steel and brass and its slightly asymmetrical shade is adjustable. Available in black or white, each lamp comes with a certificate of authenticity and has a unique serial number engraved on its base. Recommended Light Source – Osram Halogen Energy Saver 28-52W.
