Designer Russell Pinch was born in 1973. After graduating from Ravensbourne College of Design in London he worked as Sir Terence Conran’s design assistant. He was appointed as senior product designer at The Conran Group in 1995 where he was responsible for developing a diverse range of products. After five years with Conran, Pinch co-founded The Nest, a multi-disciplinary brand design agency whose clients included British Airways, WHSmith, Rip Curl and Selfridges.
In 2004 Pinch returned to furniture design and, with his wife Oona Bannon, set up furniture and product design company PINCH. Pinch has since won numerous awards including the Design and Decoration Award in 2005 for his Wave sideboard, which is sold at The Conran Shop, and more recently a Guild Mark and Grand Designs award in 2009 for his Yves desk.
