Designed by Richard Schultz especially for Florence Knoll’s seafront home in Miami, the white 1966 Lounge Chair is still crafted today by Knoll as part of its iconic 1966 collection.
The comfortable outdoor chair boasts a sturdy aluminium frame that has been welded, cast and extruded for added sturdiness before being finished with a weather-resistant polyester white powder coating.
The chair’s seat and back are covered by a woven polyester mesh that has been vinyl-coated for superior durability. The result is a design with longevity, style and exceptional durability against outdoor coastal conditions.
The chair makes up part of the iconic 1966 collection, which was created specifically for its durability against outdoor coastal conditions. Having withstood the test of time, the entire 1966 collection is now seen as an iconic selection of furniture designs and is even included in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent design collection in New York.
