Commemorating the iconic Stool 60 and featuring a chronology of Alvar Aalto furniture, the Aalto Chronology Poster by Artek would add a splash of colour to any wall.
Created by legendary Finnish designer Alvar Aalto in 1933, the Stool 60 represents the pinnacle of functionalist furniture design, characterised by its revolutionary curved L-leg.
The concept behind the Stool 60 Collection was a simple one: to create a stackable, versatile seating solution. The concept was born when Aalto was asked to design the building and furniture for the municipal library at Viipuri, at the eastern edge of Finland, which led him to invent the innovative L-leg.
Founded in 1935 by Aino and Alvar Aalto, Maire Gullichsen, and Nils-Gustav Hahl, Artek introduced a new kind of every-day living, and today is renowned as one of the world’s biggest names in interior design.
