An update of the contemporary icon, this black-legged, green Hallingdal fabric edition of the Beetle Dining Chair by young design duo Enrico Fratesi and Stine Gam would enhance any interior.
Inspired by the structure of the eponymous insect, GamFratesi noted how a beetle’s body is made up of different plates separated by thin sutures, and it is this external shell that supports and protects the animal.
Not only does the Beetle Chair evoke the anatomy and striking characteristics of the beetle, but it also draws upon the functional beauty of its shell. Inspired by the beetle’s robust carapace, the seat and back of the Beetle Chair are perfectly tailored to the human form to create optimum comfort.
The seat itself is formed using laminated moulded veneer, upholstered in green Hallingdal fabric, complete with green piping, and affixed on a base of black powder-coated steel legs. Designed by Nanna Ditzel for Kvadrat, the Hallingdal upholstery is composed of 70% new wool in a beautiful weave for a striking and soft finish to the Beetle Chair.
A contemporary icon, this upholstered edition of GamFratesi’s Beetle Dining Chair offers Scandinavian simplicity and comfort in a subtle, clean-lined form.
Please note: As this chair is ex-display, it may show certain signs of use and variations in the fabric may occur.
