Italian design house Kriptonite was founded in 1984 and is known for its innovative experimentation with aluminium. Striking the perfect balance between design and craftsmanship, Kriptonite infuses personality into every piece it creates.
Beginning its journey under the vaulted ceilings of a warehouse in Milan, the design house is named after the crypt-like architecture that housed it. Kriptonite originally began by producing lamps and clocks. It sought inspiration from industrial train station décor and soon Kriptonite’s minimalist style was entering homes across Italy.
Kriptonite is most renowned for its pared-back shelving units. First designed in 2000, the Krossing bookshelf cleverly anticipated the forthcoming minimalist industrial trends. The aluminium shelving unit is available in a range of sizes and configurations to suit a plethora of spaces.
