Educated in art and design at Warwickshire College, Schofield honed his skills by studying furniture and product design at Sheffield Hallam University. Schofield also undertook several carpentry apprenticeships, gaining unparalleled experience in the construction of houses and offices, as well as building restoration. In possibly the highest honour within the design world, Schofield managed to form a lasting working relationship with our founder Sir Terence Conran, who referred to him as "one to watch."

Endorsed by Sir Terence himself, Schofield's frequent collaborations with The Conran Shop are no surprise. Our shared outputs comprise the elegant ceramic Mag Table collection, the refined oak or walnut Seasons Bed, and the esteemed Blur Table collection, winner of the Best Furniture Award at the 2019 Homes & Gardens Design Awards. Schofield's other accolades include the 2013 New Design Britain Award, the 2020 Elle Decoration British Design Award in Furniture, and much more.

Designed exclusively for The Conran Shop by Daniel Schofield, the award-winning Blur Coffee Table showcases a simple yet visually enticing form, which consists of a clear-cut glass top resting on an intricately crafted fluted glass base.

Technically challenging to create, the base is cut using water jets to achieve the contemporary finish. Fragmenting light and creating a gentle visual distortion, the base lends this minimalist table a unique edge.
