Jasper Morrison

An icon of British design and Designer of the Year at the Elle Decoration British Design Awards 2020, Jasper Morrison considers ‘super normal’ a term that defines good design. Graduating with a degree in design from Kingston Polytechnic in 1982, Jasper Morrison went on to study at London’s Royal College of Art and the University of the Arts in Berlin. Founding his own Office for Design in 1986, Morrison forged partnerships with prestigious manufacturers such as Aram, SCP, Cappellini and Vitra. Designing iconic pieces such as the HAL Tube Chair, the Glo-Ball Pendant Light and the All Plastic Chair, Morrison’s designs can be found in homes across the globe.

A Royal Designer for Industry since 2001 and boasting offices in London, Tokyo and Paris, Jasper Morrison is also the art director for Swiss electronics company Punkt and designed furniture for the Tate Modern’s extension. Honoured with exhibitions dedicated to his work and designs in the permanent collections at New York’s MoMA and other museums across the globe, Morrison is universally recognised as a leading figure in contemporary design.
