Sir Kenneth Grange
Founder of Pentagram and now Anglepoise’s design director, award-winning designer Sir Kenneth Grange is an icon of contemporary design and has helped shape British material culture.
Beginning his career as a technical illustrator whilst completing National Service, Sir Kenneth Grange went on to gain a reputation as an industrial product designer and co-founded the international design consultancy Pentagram. Collaborating with prestigious design houses and household names such as Kenwood, Parker and Kodak, Grange also designed the nose for the InterCity 125 train, the regional Royal Mail post box and London’s latest Black Cab.
Boasting over half a century of experience creating truly remarkable designs it is no wonder that Sir Kenneth Grange was appointed Anglepoise’s design director in 2003. Throwing himself into this role, Grange has gone on to design the Type 3, Type 75 and the Type 1228 Desk Lamps for the iconic design house. Honoured with a CBE in 1984, Grange recently received a knighthood for his services to design in 2013.
Exclusive Type 75 Giant Floor Lamp
A truly show-stopping design now in a limited-edition Conran Blue colourway created exclusively for The Conran Shop, the iconic form of the Anglepoise Type 75 has been supersized and transformed to create the Type 75 Giant Floor Lamp, resplendent in our signature hue.
Crafted entirely in the UK, the Type 75 uses Anglepoise's renowned constant tension technology, offering impeccable flexibility and smooth movement for adjustable lighting angles in an eye-catching dimension perfect as a centrepiece.
An archetypal lamp of the Anglepoise family, the design has been updated in huge proportions to act as a floor lamp, reimagined to showcase bright blues as inspired by our founder, combining the rich history of our stores with the world-renowned Anglepoise image.
