Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DSW Plastic Side Chair is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature ‘Eiffel’ base with dark maple legs and a minimalist seat.
Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking solid dark maple wood and wire base with cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down.
The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSW Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.
