Specially designed in the 1960s by Richard Schultz for Florence Knoll’s seafront home in Miami, the 1966 Outdoor Chaise Longue is only available at The Conran Shop in an entrancing ultramarine blue.
Crafted today by Knoll with sturdy aluminium framing that has been welded, cast and extruded for added sturdiness, each chair is then finished with a weather-resistant polyester powder coating. The lounger's seat and back are covered by a woven polyester mesh that has been vinyl-coated for superior durability, and a set of wheels are included for smooth portability.
The result is a design with longevity, style and exceptional durability against outdoor coastal conditions. Having withstood the test of time, the 1966 collection is now seen as an iconic selection of furniture designs, and is even included in the Museum of Modern Art’s permanent design collection in New York.
