Designed by Hella Jongerius as a fresh reinterpretation of Alvar Aalto’s classic Stool 60 design, this design icon has been updated with a coloured lacquered seat and stylish wooden legs.
The stackable three-legged stool was originally created in 1933 by Alvar Aalto, and showcases the functionality of furniture at the time with its simple round seat and three bent legs that eventually became a distinctive feature in Aalto’s work.
Hella Jongerius’s update to Stool 60 offers a choice of honey, natural, walnut and black-lacquered wooden legs, with coloured seats in pink, orange, red, purple, dark blue and cream, along with honey stained birch and walnut stained birch options – allowing you to completely cater the stool to your style of space.
Alvar Aalto was one of the founding members of Artek, embracing strong individuality with focus on designing predominantly for humanity, creating functional and dynamic pieces for public and personal spaces alike. Hella Jongerius is renowned for her singular approach to design, fusing craft with innovative technology to create pieces with both a traditional and contemporary feel.
Available in a selection of coloured lacquers and wooden leg finishes, the stackable and compact Stool 60 has been reinterpreted by Hella Jongerius and would make a design statement in your home.
