Grand Prix Chair in Walnut

The Grand Prix chair, or 3130 as it was originally named, by Modernist architect and designer Arne Jacobsen was introduced in 1957 at the Designer's Spring Exhibition at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen.

Later the following year it won the Grand Prix at the Triennale di Milano – the finest distinction of the exhibition, after which the 3130 received its new name.

Now the Grand Prix chair has been reintroduced by Fritz Hansen with new non-stackable wooden legs.

The chair is made of pressure-moulded sliced veneer and comes in two different finishes: oak and walnut with clear lacquer, and coloured ash which has a wide grain and is fully visible through the colour finish.

The sculptural silhouette will add a touch of contemporary cool to your living room or home office.
