In-store demonstration by Hannah Bould
Hannah Bould at her studio in Archway, North London
Independent ceramicist Hannah Bould hand-throws pottery in her Archway studio, charmingly situated at the end of her parent’s garden. After studying at Camberwell and specialising in printmaking, Hannah tried her hand at pottery, spending time at evening classes before interning in New York for potter Helen Levi.
Hannah paints one of her designs in the studio
Inspired by bold prints and taking an individual, hand-drawn approach to each piece, Hannah’s work is characterised by a delicate use of black and white hues and an interplay between glossy glazes and textural raw clay.
Throwing in motion at the potter’s wheel
To celebrate the ‘Contrast Collection’, our exclusive tableware range designed in collaboration with Hannah, she will be throwing pots live at The Conran Shop Selfridges on the 22nd September from 2pm-6pm. Visitors will be able to view first-hand the mesmerising craft of pottery and experience the time and care she takes over each piece.
