Exclusive to The Conran Shop, this vintage Brodee cushion cover in a natural hue is an extremely special, completely one-of-a-kind-design.
Sourced from Zaire in the Congo, the fabric is crafted by the Kuba people, using a multiple-stage process including gathering and preparing raffia fibres from the Raphia Vinifera palm, dyeing and then embellishing the woven cloth with embroidery, applique and dye.
Kuba cloth is renowned for being bold yet intricate, dramatic yet subdued, and was the source of inspiration for 20th century abstract artists such as Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso.
Each vintage cushion cover is made up from long pieces of cloth, meaning that no two designs are the same.
The vintage Brodee cushion cover in a natural hue would make a unique addition to your interior and is sure to enliven any textiles scheme.
Please note: Due to the nature of recycled vintage fabric, subtle differences in texture, patterning and embroidery may occur.
