Description
Josef Albers’ 1962 oil painting ‘Homage to the Square: Equivocal’ has been beautifully transformed into an elegant rug by Christopher Farr, offering the unique opportunity to invest in a stunning collision between art and textiles.
Exquisitely hand-knotted by artisans in India using 100% hand-spun wool, the ‘Homage to the Square: Equivocal’ Rug recreates Albers’ original artwork. Featuring three squares of solid colour nested within one another, the rug reflects Albers’ belief that colour, as opposed to form, “is the primary medium of pictorial language”.
Produced in association with the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, this piece is one of just 150 limited-edition ‘Homage to the Square: Equivocal’ Rugs and arrives beautifully packaged, displaying its unique edition number on the reverse.
Since 1988, Christopher Farr has been at the forefront of contemporary rug design. Utilising only the finest yarn and dyes and collaborating with the most talented weavers from across the world, the creation of a Christopher Farr piece is a painstaking process that results in rugs that are nothing less than works of art.
