On Wednesday 10th November, we welcomed our Conran Shop guests to the grand opening of our new Basement shopping area in Marylebone, with a festive extravaganza that kicked off the season in style.
Christmas started with a bang on Marylebone High Street this year, as the local lights switch-on coincided with our grand opening, introducing a brand-new shopping area dedicated to our exceptional Kitchen and Dining, Utility and Decorative Accessories edits. Offering more space and a sleek new interior, the renovation has imbued the entire Marylebone store with a fresh aesthetic, completed by mesmerising artwork from Isabel + Helen.
To celebrate the opening, we welcome many of our creative brands to host demonstrations, offer samples and provide entertainment for our guests. The festivities began with mulled wine and mince pies, followed by seasonal cookie decorating with Biscuiteers and demonstrations from Elena Samms, a New Designers alum. Samms showed our customers their intricate craft of slip-casting, offering an insight into the complex art of handmade ceramics.
The event continued with personalised Christmas cards from Scribble & Daub, demonstrations by Hydro-herb, table tennis on the terrace with The Art of Ping Pong, portraits by Polaroid and delicious cocktail sampling from our favourite tequila brand, El Rayo. Jamie Temple assisted guests to print their own Christmas cards, and after all the fun, Therabody was on hand to offer a relaxing massage with their award-winning Theragun.
Soundtracked by DJ Seb Emmins (who threw a few festive tunes into the mix - it’s never too early!) the event was bursting with seasonal spirit, all topped off with our Conran Shop Piñata competition, where we offered one lucky guest the chance to win a £1,000 Gift Card. Thanks to our winner for her expert piñata-bashing skills, it was quite the finale to the evening.
