Marylebone Interiors Day 2014

It’s no secret that Marylebone is the go-to destination for interior inspiration but did you know there is an entire day dedicated to this design wonderland? Building on the success of last year’s inaugural Marylebone Interiors Day, this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Eight of the area’s retailers – The Conran Shop, Designers Guild, Farrow & Ball, McGlashans, Lewis & Co, Little Greene, Skandium and Solid Floor –  will join forces in a collaborative effort with Livingetc to cement Marylebone Village’s growing reputation for interior design.

On the day follow the hot-pink banners for exciting workshops, inspiring talks, free consultations and interactive activities, together with an array of exclusive offers. With events running all day and into the evening, this is the perfect opportunity to pick up hints for your home and start planning your spring makeover.

Craftsmanship is key at The Conran Shop so don’t miss our behind the scenes window installation. Hans J. Wegner designed the Wishbone chair for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1949 and it has been in continuous production since 1950. Despite the chair's straightforward appearance it takes more than 100 steps to make one. Carl Hansen & Søn have flown in their master braider from Denmark, who will be in our shop window showcasing the craftsmanship and skills involved with stringing the hand-woven seat.

Watch the live demonstration between 11.30am-3.30pm and you’ll not only have the opportunity to ask any burning questions about the iconic design but you could take it home with you!

Customers who visit the store on the day can enter our competition to win the handcrafted Wishbone chair. You can only enter the competition by visiting the store, and the winner will be announced at 3.30pm on the top floor in the Conran Apartment.

Marylebone Interiors Day 2014 runs throughout the day on Saturday 10th May. Follow us on Twitter and share your favourite moments on the day using the hashtag #MID2014
