Launching exclusively at The Conran Shop, the innovative All Plastic Chair by Jasper Morrison is available to pre-order ahead of its global release in April 2017.
Presented at Salone del Mobile 2016, the APC won the Best Chair Product award and translates classic wooden seating forms into a 21st century plastic manifestation.
Designed for a new generation, APC swaps wood for plastic, marking a significant advancement in the chairs of its type.
Composed of one piece of high performance, dyed-through polypropylene, the seat surface is organically shaped and moulded to support all users.
The All Plastic Chair is a contemporary triumph in polypropylene engineering with its unique flex support and clean aesthetic; the durability of the plastic also protects the chair against sun and water damage, making it the perfect option for indoor and outdoor use.
The ergonomic backrest is more finely modelled than conventional chairs, connected to the frame by twin shafts, cushioned and contoured for optimum support.
Using two types of plastic, the chairs’ frames are in darker hues, while the seats and backrests are a subtly different nuance of the same colour, lending the design a distinctive, contemporary aesthetic.
Coining the term ‘super normal’, as a response to the question of what ‘good design’ should be, British designer Jasper Morrison is celebrated for giving new life to existing forms, through reinterpretation and refinement.
His designs express a functional purity, with understated forms, clean lines and useful details. His work is featured in New York’s Museum of Modern Art and other renowned museum collections across the world.
