Like fashion, the interiors world is cyclical and the new season media frenzy has commenced with a host of September issues that could rival the Yellow Pages as a weighty door stop. As coveted by countless interiors addicts, Ron Gilad's angular tables have sprung up in recent issues of House Beautiful, Home and Garden and Country & Townhouse. A striking modern masterpiece, the tables add a touch of geometric beauty and a splash of colour if you choose to go for the primaries.
With a chair that begs to be lounged in, Muller van Severen's Rack and Seat is an innovative design that kindly provides the perfect spot to put your tea whilst reading the paper. Launched last year at the Future Primitives exhibition in Berlin, the design is crafted from leather, tubular steel and polyethylene plates which keeps things satisfyingly simple and minimalist.
It hit the ground running when it was featured on the pages of World of Interiors earlier this year and it now graces the recent issue of House & Garden magazine, if you fancy buying into a design duo with their sights on interior stardom then these guys should tick the boxes.
Grand Designs have dedicated some serious space to The Conran Shop with a trend feature that includes a shot of the beautiful Conran Apartment in the Marylebone store. Championing a host of tips to inject some sunshine yellow into your life, we are inspired to recreate the look at home using the Fortuny Floor Lamp (£3,099), the Reale Oak and Glass Table (£3,500) and the Elephant Office Chair (£1,795). Of course it goes without saying that ALL pieces featured are part of The Conran Shop collections so you can recreate the look without trawling endless shops.
Finally, despite it still being August (just) we are secretly looking forward to the first few leaves falling from the trees and an excuse to get creative with our illuminations as the autumnal evenings draw in. Elle Decoration recently featured the Akari 33N Pendant light in a piece celebrating authentic design. With an entire collection of different sizes and shapes it would seem that there is something for all spaces if you have your sights set on a handmade shoji paper light steeped in traditional manufacturing know-how.
