Introducing the Flos Takeover at The Conran Shop Chelsea
Continuing our year of collaborations, we invite the Italian lighting luminary Flos to take over Michelin House. Filling the historic space with its latest launches and iconic designs, Flos enlightens us on setting the perfect ambience at home this autumn-winter, on display between October and December.
Translating to 'flower' in Latin, the esteemed manufacturer was founded in 1962 to push the boundaries of contemporary lighting. Fusing technology and emotion, Flos integrates light into architecture and nature, bringing with it sophistication and poetic sensibility. Committed to quality, sustainability, innovation, and timeless design, Flos has accumulated an ever-blossoming portfolio and an unending number of awards for its lighting offering.
The exclusive takeover follows Flos' 60th birthday celebrations at this year's Salone del Mobile in Milan, where Calvi Brambilla transformed the giant industrial space of Fabbrica Orobia to celebrate the brand's milestone and present its new arrivals in head-turning form. Flos now heads to The Conran Shop in Chelsea to give its latest table, floor, wall, and ceiling lights a new home; each new piece is strictly composed of replaceable and recyclable parts, in line with the brand's commitment to sustainability and a circular economy. Further enhancing the visitor experience, videos from the Milan installation will be displayed throughout the space, as well as QR codes offering advanced information on every product. For now, learn more about the collection below.

Belt Suspension Light in Fabric
by the Bouroullec Brothers
Back in a fresh, fabric form, the Compasso d'Oro-winning Belt suspends from a curved line that gracefully balances the recyclable polyester's versatility with the rigidity of the aluminium components; each adjustable fabric strap connects with a robust metal clasp.
Luce Orizzontale Pendant
by the Bouroullec Brothers
The latest masterpiece by the Bouroullec brothers, the Luce Orizzontale is shaped from aluminium and glass; the ethereal light reveals itself as if suspended in the air and can be coupled with more of the same to light up long distances.
Bellhop Wall Up Light
by Barber Osgerby
Back and even sleeker for 2022, the Bellhop is reborn as a shell-like wall light, crafted from aluminium and polycarbonate, featuring the same bell-shaped diffuser as the original, and casting an upward, indirect glare with additional dust, moisture, and water protection.
Luminator Floor Lamp
by the Castiglioni Brothers
The 1954 Luminator returns in four striking new finishes; an exercise in functional minimalism, based on the idea of using the ceiling to diffuse light. This elevated version is formed entirely of metal, and offered now in anthracite, red, white, and 'lite' blue.
Arco K Floor Lamp
by the Castiglioni Brothers
Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Castiglioni's legendary Arco design, only 2022 of this most-special 'K' edition are available, upgrading the original with a lead-free crystal base, complete with an NFC traceability system to guarantee the originality and uniqueness of each.
Gustave Table Lamp
by Vincent Van Duysen
Named after Monsieur Gustave H., the protagonist in Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel, the Gustave is the perfect dining companion, suitable for outdoor environments too. Each portable lamp is crafted from aluminium and acrylic, and rechargeable through the included USB-C cable.
Oblique Floor Lamp
by Vincent Van Duysen
Crafted with die-cast aluminium and methacrylate, the Oblique's asymmetric light beam will feel at home anywhere, from the home to the office. Adding to its talents, the base boasts a USB-C connector, so you can charge your devices while lighting up your interior.
To-Tie Table Lamp
by Guglielmo Poletti
The playful To-Tie results from the combination of a simple light unit rod tied up through its electrical cable to a glass cylinder that acts as a decorative element, support, and diffuser at the same time, shaped from borosilicate glass and aluminium with two anodised finishes.
Mayday Outdoor Lamp
by Konstantin Grcic
Designed in 2000 and updated for 2022 with weatherproof features, the outdoor-ready Mayday is a perfectly functional and practical source of lighting wherever needed. A winner of the Compasso d'Oro Award, the new take is crafted with recycled polypropylene and a contrasting hook.
Small 265 Wall Light
by Paolo Rizzatto
Rizzatto's timeless 265 returns five decades later in a more compact take; the boldly rendered lamp provides a direct glow with a painted aluminium adjustable arm, balanced with a cast-iron weight, and complete with white, black, and chromatica finishes.
