The Conran Shop x It’s Nice That
A Load of Jargon
For London Design Festival, we’re collaborating with creative media publication, It’s Nice That, on an installation of over-used industry buzzwords and a series of related activities. The colourful and playful concept of A Load of Jargon plays with space, material and typography. It will be brought to life in our Chelsea store windows, where design partners Isabel + Helen will enhance the space with captivating installations.
Our windows will be transformed and filled with an array of sights, bold 3D objects, materials and typography and there will be five uniquely designed installations symbolising each piece of jargon for you to interact with.
You can enjoy a host of printmaking and screen-printing workshops throughout the installation and a limited edition capsule collection of A Load of Jargon stationery, posters and accessories will be available in-store.
Official Launch: Thursday 22nd September, 6.30pm – 9pm
17th September – 30th October

Abstract Expressionism with the Royal Academy of Arts
This autumn, The Conran Shop Marylebone is partnering with the Royal Academy of Arts and one of its hero exhibitions, Abstract Expressionism. Jack Killick, an art student from the Royal Academy School, will create a mural inspired by the works from the exhibition, which will sit as a backdrop to our Marylebone store windows.
Forever associated with the energy, invention and experimentation of 1950s New York, Abstract Expressionism is characterised by spontaneous brush strokes, large fields of colour and an expressive charge. We’re taking inspiration from these radical works, with their powerful impact, scale and vitality, by featuring many abstract and colourful designs across our departments, including an edit of specially curated products inspired by the movement.

Official launch: Tuesday 20th September, 6.30pm - 8.30pm
From 16th September – 30th October

Zuza Mengham ‘Sculpting Scent’
As part of an on-going exploration of the relationship between scent and other senses, London-based perfumier Laboratory Perfumes has been working with artist Zuza Mengham to consider ways of translating intangible fragrances into solid sculptural forms.
Taking the brand’s four existing scents, Amber, Gorse, Samphire and Tonka – as well as a soon to-be-launched fifth fragrance Atlas – Zuza has created a series of resin sculptures that will be displayed in The Conran Shop Marylebone.
The five sculptures will be presented in a special exhibition in our windows, alongside the Laboratory Perfumes range of fragrances and candles that inspired them. Four of these sculptures will be available for purchase after the exhibition. The Sculpting Scent exhibition also celebrates the launch of Laboratory Perfumes’ fifth scent – Atlas, of which a limited quantity will be available exclusively at The Conran Shop.

Official launch: Thursday 15th September 6.30pm - 8.30pm
