The London Design Festival returned with flair at The Conran Shop after a two-year hiatus at the hands of the global pandemic. We marked the occasion with an immersive Chelsea window installation by Damien Poulain, multiple exclusive new releases, and our ever-popular LDF party. Here are some of our favourite events from the week.
From 18th-26th September, the glorious city where The Conran Shop began was taken over by the world of design. The 19th edition of the London Design Festival was long-awaited after our time in lockdown, and we couldn’t have been happier to celebrate once again with our dear friends.
As part of the Brompton Design District, our Chelsea store was transformed with an exceptional window installation by Parisian artist Damien Poulain. The ‘Magical Value of Shapes’ display provided the perfect backdrop to our new exclusives, offering our vision of the future of design as we move into autumn 2021.
On the eve of Thursday 23rd, we welcomed guests to our annual LDF Party. With music by DJ Rafe Hale 0 and prosecco aplenty, plus a non-alcoholic option from our sponsors Lucky Saint, the evening was spent admiring the Chelsea display and taking in our new Hans J. Wegner, Warren Platner and Magnus Long exclusives, enhanced with the ambience and scent of numerous Dr. Vranjes candles aglow.
The store is situated in the heart of a design hub, and we further enjoyed events by our neighbours at Cassina, Molteni&C, the Future of Home show by Local Heroes and of course, the Medusa display by Tin Drum and Sou Fujimoto at the V&A Museum.
