Among Parisian design circles, the week of Maison&Objet and Design Week is one of the biggest events of the year. In true Conran style, the Paris Design Week party at the Rue du Bac store kicked off this year’s celebrations.
We were delighted to present our new curated collection of furniture and lighting designs in partnership with our most-trusted collaborators. The AW19 collection boasts work from established and up-and-coming designers, many of which are exclusive to The Conran Shop.
The display showcased Knoll’s limited-edition sheepskin Womb Chair as well as the indomitable ‘Fusion Fire’ Saarinen Dining Table. Visitors could also admire the exclusive Latis Series by Samuel Wilkinson, upholstered in a plethora of Kvadrat/Raf Simons fabrics. The store soon filled with revellers celebrating to a soundtrack of DJ Greg-Greg’s making.
Coinciding with Paris Design Week, our extended Eames Plastic Chair collection was available to view, notably adorning the windows. Refreshed for 2019 with Vitra’s newest colour palettes and Hopsak-upholstered options, the update pays homage to the chair’s original edit.
Further to furniture, the store highlighted the esteemed lighting brand Stilnovo’s bespoke limited-run of Italian modernist masterpieces. Shining out toward Le Bon Marché as the night progressed, the key story was provided by the Lampiatta Table Lamp. Designed in 1971 by De Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi, its distinctive shape is specially moulded to reflect light around the room. It’s also available as a Pendant Light.
