Spotlight On: tokyobike
The Conran Shop introduces the Japanese cycling brand, tokyobike. Established in 2002 by Ichiro Kanai, the independent company found its humble beginnings in Tokyo's historic neighbourhood of Yanaka.
Informed by its Japanese roots, the brand centres around the 'Tokyo Slow' ideology of honouring the journey as much as the destination; taking in the sights, scents and sensations of each ride. Capturing the hearts of avid cyclists, tokyobike is recognised worldwide, from Melbourne to Los Angeles and from Milan to Taipei.
As mountain bikes are specially designed for tougher terrains, tokybike bicycles are enhanced for the hustle and bustle of cities. Each one prioritises speed, convenience and design, made to be 'quick, comfortable, and beautiful enough to hang in your living room.'

Packing reduced wheel sizes and lightweight steel frames, tokyobike models fit into small spaces and accelerate more efficiently than the average bicycle. We currently offer three models from the tokyobike family: the CS26, the Bisou and the Mini Velo in colours to suit every taste, from mustard-yellow to blue-jade.

Each bike arrives assembled and ready to ride, complete with Shimano gears, a bell and kickstand. The classic CS26 provides ultimate comfort and swift manoeuvring through congested streets, Bisou offers a refined, upright ride around town on the weekends and the small but mighty Mini Velo boasts a compact frame and quick-accelerating wheels for the daily commute.
