This autumn, The Conran Shop presents The Artist & The Collector – a curated collection inspired by the creativity and individualism of the Artist and the searching, editorial eye of the Collector.
The Artist & The Collector features furniture and lifestyle accessories and brings together iconic designs, new and emerging
talent combined with vintage finds, all of which have been sourced from across the globe.
In The Conran Shop Chelsea windows, the living room area showcases exclusive products such as the contemporary clean-lined Clarence sofa in grey cashmere, styled with the Abstract Geometric Cushions in navy blue velvet with yellow linen details. Magnus Long’s white Arabescato marble top Workshop Coffee Table completes the refined look.
Bespoke shelving in the study area is filled with an eclectic selection of inspirational books. The limited edition Library
27 Desk in black walnut by internationally renowned Donald Judd is set with drawing utensils: solid brass ruler and pencil case
by Midori and Clementina van der Walt’s hand-thrown, vibrant glazed pots filled with coloured pencils. Decorative plaster
casts from Astier de Villatte add a touch of classicism and charm to the look.
In the dining room, Harry Bertoia’s striking Plastic Side Chair, first designed in 1952, has now been reissued with a
polypropylene seat; an assortment of colours surround the Duomo Dining Table in walnut by Jader Almeida. Hanging
above is the beautiful coloured glass chandelier designed by Brazilian duo the Campana Brothers, the hand-blown glass
spherical chandelier is part of the Candy collection.
The backdrop displays a selection of furniture from Brazilian designer Jader Almeida, whose award-winning modernist designs reflect his deep appreciation of detail. Almeida’s range includes dining and side tables, dining and lounge chairs and storage accessories, all being exclusive to The Conran Shop.
The colour palette draws from pigment paints, natural hues and vegetable dyes that inspire the painterly tones of The
Conran Shop’s bed linens and textiles. The exclusive cashmere bed Clarence has a wooden frame with a 70% cashmere
and 30% lambswool upholstery. The bed is made with 600 thread count cotton bed linen, finished with an embroidered
navy edge. The bed is dressed with Ombre Mohair Cushions and blanket in navy and ochre, both sourced from Spain.
Layered with a dark blue, beige and indigo Kantha quilt hand-stitched in Kolkata, together with a reversible cashmere
throw in navy from Scottish brand Begg & Co.
Decorative Venetian hand-blown glass Bollee Pendants from Italian studio Giopato and Coombes hang above the bed. The
Talemo Tan Leather Bench and the award-winning Cross Leg Lounge Chair, designed by Magnus Long for The Conran Shop
complete the arrangement by giving a relaxed feel.
Assorted clippings and mementoes are pinned to the side cork wall, together with sketches, colour swatches, framed art and
photographs to create an eclectic board of inspiration.
