Bringing London Craft Week 2022 to its grand finale, we asked our close collaborators and style experts Lucinda Chambers and Serena Hood to curate their perfect summer tabletop scheme; discover their top picks below.
Collagerie is your shortcut to style, masterminded by Lucinda Chambers and Serena Hood. Expertly curating the best of fashion, interiors, beauty, and lifestyle, the brand celebrates shopping at every price point, bringing you an innovative way to discover things you'll love. As Fashion Director of British Vogue for 25 years, Chambers has extensive experience directing some of fashion's most memorable shoots. She has also worked as a creative consultant and stylist across high street and luxury brands. Simultaneously, as former Executive Fashion Director at British Vogue, Hood has created sold-out events and written countless style and fashion edits for Vogue magazine and other reputable media outlets. Thus, we can’t imagine a better duo to help us curate the dinner party to die for.
Taking inspiration from their capsule Conran Shop collection, Chambers and Hood inject colour into every aspect of their ideal dining scheme. Selecting their favourites from the edit, such as the pink Tablecloth, Ms Hood notes their long-standing obsession with stripes: “Such is our passion for stripes; they’ve become something of a Collagerie signature. Simple yet striking, and instantly uplifting, this colourful linen tablecloth injects drama and dazzle into your summer tablescape.” Equally enamoured with their exclusive ceramics collection, Ms Chambers advises, “A mix and match of deliciously decorative ceramics sets the scene for a joyful occasion. These handcrafted bowls make a show-stopping statement, whether filled with food or not. They’re so spectacular, I’m tempted to mount mine on the wall!”
Paired with a pink Placemat (“the brilliant colours just sing!”) and a statement Dipped Vase in red and terracotta, Ms Hood is certain that “There’s nothing quite like the beauty of traditional artisanal design”. Of the vase, in particular, she admires its “timeless, earthy charm, while its luscious, lipstick-red rim adds a contemporary dash of colour.” To complement their collection, the duo select a variety of colourful and charming items, such as Månses Design’s Rattan Covered Carafe, CAPDECO’s Cottage Culture Cultery, and The Conran Shop’s new-season Modella Side Plate.
There’s nothing quite like ending a soirée with an intimate coffee by candlelight, and Collagerie, as always, have thought through everything down to the last detail. Selecting The Conran Shop’s Keijo Reactive Mugs, Ms Chambers is drawn to the design as it “speaks to our desire for timeless designs with a sense of personality: you can feel the artist’s hand at work in the organic shape and the painted decoration, giving a uniqueness to each piece.” Yod and Co’s Short Stack Candle in pink, the hue of the season for this pair, completes the evening in style, as Ms Hood explains: “There’s nothing more flattering than candlelight – it gives a table-setting such beauty and intimacy. I love this candle’s juxtaposition of soft feminine colours and a bold, sculptural shape. It’s delightfully quirky and cool.”
