With only a few days left, don’t miss out on the chance to pop into ‘The Rug Room’ in The Conran Shop's Chelsea store. Housed in the Blue room, this stunning display of the finest vintage and contemporary rugs from around the world contains many unique and exclusive pieces.
The collection includes hand woven blue and white broad stripe dhurries, soft Jute braided rugs from the fertile plains of the Ganges Delta and Baneh Kilims from North West Iran. An exclusive collection of vintage straw wool rugs, traditionally called Hssira, are hand made in the Atlas Mountains and feature intricate stitching details with textural depth and detail.
The contemporary collection includes herringbone linen and raffia rugs from Guatemala in a range of colours and straw ikat mats in blues and deep oranges from Tunisia. A range of vintage nomadic rugs from Turkey (Anatolia) provide rich colour and can be used both on the wall and the floor.
Launching in the UK for the first time is a simple yet elegant range by Reflejos de mi Tierra from Argentina using hand spun Alpaca and Llama wool woven on traditional looms. Super soft yet chunky, no two rugs are the same and feature simple pattern and design on natural dyed fibres.
