Part of a limited-edition run of 20, the Karuselli Ottoman in all-black prestige leather was designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro and is the accompaniment to Sir Terence’s favourite chair.
A result of numerous experiments, the ottoman was originally designed in 1964 after Kukkapuro paid close attention to how snow moulds to the contouring of the human body. Its undulating form is balanced atop a sturdy fibreglass shell with generous padding.
Yrjö Kukkapuro is a central figure of Finnish functionalism who, in his creations, prioritised sense and function above all. This characteristic is exemplified by the Karuselli Lounge Chair and Ottoman, which form an equally ergonomic and artful addition to timeless interior décors.
“It’s the most comfortable chair in the world… I lie back in it with a glass of whisky and a cigar and immediately feel that life is worth living.” - Sir Terence Conran.
