The Italian for ‘bulb’, the Lampadina was designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1972 and embodies its namesake with perfect clarity and simplicity.
The clever design is formed of an oversized bulb with a partly translucent surface, which elegantly softens the light source’s focus.
Lampadina rests on a stylish orange base, with a built-in switch and aluminium disc, which provides practical storage for the lamp’s excess power cord.
Achille Castiglioni, one of the most prolific and celebrated designers of Italian modernism, explained his simple approach to design as: “Start from scratch. Stick to common sense. Know your goals and means.”
Bulb included: LED 2W.
