Expertly designed by Maarten Van Severen in 2000 for Vitra, the minimalist black and brushed stainless steel MVS Chaise Longue is easily recognisable thanks to its sleek, slimline shape.
Following the concept that ‘less is more’, the MVS Chaise Longue retains an unobtrusive and elegant aesthetic whilst providing extraordinary comfort. Crafted from resilient integral skin polyurethane foam, the seat’s ergonomic shell adapts to the user’s body for a truly comfortable sitting experience.
Finished with a black foam head cushion and a robust tubular frame crafted from brushed stainless steel, the MVS Chaise Longue is perfectly suited to outdoor use and can be easily alternated between a sitting and reclining position.
Having studied architecture at the Art Academy in Ghent, Maarten Van Severen designed his first pieces of furniture in 1986 and went on to found his own workshop in 1987. With a focus on form, material and construction, Van Severen is devoted to rejuvenating basic furniture types such as chairs, tables, chaise longues, shelving units and cabinets.
