Designed in 1957 by Paulo Mendes da Rocha the striking Paulistano chair was part of the living rooms of the athletic club of Sao Paulo and was introduced into the MoMA collection in 2007. The constructivist concept of the structure made up from a single bent steel bar and semi-aniline leather upholstery make this chair a lightweight durable and immensely comfortable design. The piece has been re-introduced by Objekto the licensed manufacturers of da Rocha's designs and all chairs are manufactured in southern France. Available in tan leather with a phosphatized carbon steel frame. Also available with a white cotton cover or with a beautifully pure metal mesh cover over a stainless steel frame.
