Exemplifying industrial aesthetics, the bespoke painted steel finish of the indoor AC Armchair has been specially commissioned by The Conran Shop.
Originally designed in 1934 by the pioneer of galvanisation in France, Xavier Pauchard, the chair’s design has been distilled down to its current stackable version. Crafted from sheet metal, the chair has received praise for its “fool-proof solidity, it’s unequalled lightness, it’s easy maintenance”.
A design classic, the chair forms part of collections at the MoMA in New York, the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
Please note: This bespoke chair has been used for display purposes and therefore may show signs of wear proportional with use. The utmost effort has been made to accurately showcase each intricacy and imperfection, and this piece is sold as seen.
